Update on Trailwork!

A lot was accomplished this week on the trails.  In one week, Corby South , Corby North and the Brownie trails have been completely weed wacked!  The first mile to 1.5 miles of Krug are done but more weedeating fun awaits.  There are plenty more opportunities to get out and help with your trails.  Stay tuned in for more work days to be announced in the near future.  Its not just weedeating that needs to be done, there is also some small cutting and trail blowing to be done.  Thank you to everyone that has been out to help,  this is truly the hardest part of putting on this festival. Less than two weeks til the festival, lets not let down now, keep pushing forward and lets make this an amazing event.

Volunteers Needed for Trail Work!

A group of volunteers are meeting Saturday morning, May 5th at the corby parking lot to do trail work.  Randy Tracy and his group of weedwackers will be out at 7:30 am to continue the work that has already been started.  Bring your weed trimmer, some extra line and your fuel and Randy and his gang will show you where to start.  Remember, many hands make light work. BIKEFEST is only 14 days away!  If you need any info or have questions, comment on this blog post and we will get back to you.

3, 2, 1 ... BIKEFEST!

St. Joseph's first ever Bike Festival is right around the corner.  The bike festival has become a reality thanks to the St. Joe Bike Club, the Mark Reynolds Memorial Bike Fund and the St. Joseph Parks and Recreation Dept.  Also, many area cyclist have worked very hard to plan and put on the Festival and their hard work has produced results.  The results are the local businesses that have stepped up to sponsored our event or have committed to us as vendors.     The St. Joseph Bike Festival is an event that the whole family can enjoy, from our family friendly group rides to the Kids tour of St. Joseph event and our multiple road and mountain guided bike rides and the amazing talents of the N.A.T.S. national trials event riders.  Even if your not the cycling type , come out and enjoy our food and retail vendors and the Music of St. Joseph's own "Missouri Detour"! See our other pages of this blog for more specific details of the event.  If your interested in being a part of the Festival you can e-mail stjoebikefest@gmail.com for more information.
